MMS6120 is a dual channel bearing vibration measurement module produced by EPRO Corporation in the United States (now part of the German epro Group), mainly used to monitor and protect the bearing vibration status of turbomachinery (such as steam turbines, gas turbines, compressors, fans, gearboxes, blowers, centrifuges, etc.). The following are its core parameters and functional details:
1、 Core parameters
Channel design
Dual channel independent input, supporting two electric speed sensor signal inputs (SENS 1H/L and SENS 2H/L).
Matching sensor: PR926X series electric sensor from German epro company, with an input voltage range of -5V to+15VDC.
Electrical characteristics
Power supply voltage:+24VDC redundant design to enhance power supply stability.
Frequency range: 5Hz to 1000Hz (compliant with DIN 45670 standard), covering low-frequency to high-frequency vibration monitoring requirements.
Output signal:
Current output: Two adjustable channels of 0-20mA or 4-20mA, used for transmitting vibration characteristic values.
Voltage output: Two channels of 0-10V voltage signals provide analog output of vibration amplitude or velocity.

Vibration monitoring and protection
By using an electric speed sensor to measure the vibration of the bearing (bearing vibration), the output signal is proportional to the absolute vibration of the bearing.
Support alarm threshold setting, each channel can be configured with 2 optocoupler alarm outputs to achieve graded warning of Danger and Alert.
Signal Processing and Filtering
Built in microprocessor, supporting signal filtering and spectrum analysis functions.
It can store the vibration data of the last start stop process and read it through a computer or portable device to assist in fault diagnosis.
Communication and Interface
The front panel is equipped with SMB interface, which can directly measure sensor signals.
Supports key phase signal input (requires>13V), used for speed control mode and spectrum analysis.
Parameters can be set and data can be read through on-site portable devices or remote communication buses (such as Profibus DP).
Status indication and fault diagnosis
The "Channel Normal" indicator light on the front panel, green indicates normal, and off or flashing indicates a fault.
Supports LED indication of channel status and module status (slow flashing 0.8Hz indicates channel status, fast flashing 1.6Hz indicates module status).
Automatically lock the alarm output in case of module failure to avoid misoperation.

Combined with other modules such as shaft displacement and speed modules, a complete turbo mechanical protection system is constructed to prevent equipment damage due to excessive vibration.
Analysis, Diagnosis, and Control System
As an input signal source, it is connected to analysis and diagnosis systems, fieldbus systems (such as Profibus), distributed control systems (DCS), or power plant main computers to achieve real-time monitoring and historical trend analysis of vibration data.
Industrial Network Integration
Supports industrial network protocols such as WAN/LAN and Ethernet, facilitating remote monitoring and data sharing.
